Eric is a landscape professional with more than 14 years of experience in land management, wholesale plant sales, and commercial landscape installation. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Colorado State University and began his career at the High Plains Environmental Center, where he spent seven years developing a strong foundation in habitat creation and ecological land stewardship. Starting as an unpaid intern under the mentorship of Jim Tolstrup, Eric played a key role in building a comprehensive land management program and contributing to the early development of what has become a highly successful native plant nursery. This experience fostered a deep appreciation for native plants and their integration into traditional landscape practices.
Following his time at HPEC, Eric spent an additional seven years working in sales for two wholesale plant nurseries, where he focused on connecting clients with appropriate plant selections. During this period, he discovered the importance of education and relationship-building within the landscaping community and took pride in helping others succeed while promoting native and Colorado-responsible plant choices in conventional landscape designs.
Eric currently serves as Construction Project Manager at Zak George Landscaping, where he oversees commercial landscape installations. In this role, he brings together his diverse background to make a meaningful impact on large-scale landscape projects that balance functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.
