Colorado Gives Day

On Colorado Gives Day, High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC) is asking for donations of $75 so we can purchase 60 heirloom fruit trees to be planted in our orchard. Our goal is to raise $4,500 on Colorado Gives Day this year. Will you help us?

Northern Colorado was once a significant fruit growing region, but over the last century development has replaced orchards. By planting heirloom fruit trees and creating an orchard, HPEC is preserving and restoring this portion of our agricultural history.

These heirloom fruit trees, including apple and cherry, will be planted on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, with the help of volunteers. All fruit grown in the orchard will be donated to families in need through The House of Neighborly Service located in Loveland.

We invite you to come to our Grand Opening and Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 13, 2017, where you can visit our new Educational Visitor Center, check out our gardens and Orchard, and buy some plants.

On December 6, 2016 please consider making a donation to HPEC.
